You need to be very smart while buying used car. You must ask all the right questions if you want to strike the right deal. Here I am going to tell you ten things that you must ask a car dealer before buying one from him.
Ask him if the vehicle you are buying is certified or not. Ask him to show the mechanic’s pre certification inspection. Since every car goes through an inspection before it is certified. You must keep these papers with you as you might need them in case some problem arises in the future.
Enquire who the owner of the vehicle was? Check the maintenance records of the vehicle. Get the owner’s name blacked out. If it has been bought at an auction ensure that it has been thoroughly inspected by a mechanic.
To check if the dealer is a reputed one, ask for a CarFax report. Any reputed dealer will not have any problem in showing you this. A not so reputed one will probably show you a doctored report.
Cash is the King. All the dealers try to earn money off financing. Cash can get you a lower price in any market. It should be at least 5 % less than the original price that was quoted. If the dealer does not give that discount point out to him the amount of work that you are saving him from by paying in cash.
Many new types of equipment are also given by the dealers with the vehicle as free gifts. You can ask the dealer if there is any free equipment with the vehicle you want to buy.
You can also ask the dealer to get the car repaired in case of any defaults. This way you will save money on repairing major defaults.
Ask the dealer if he takes the trade ins. If the dealer handles this for you, a lot of your time and effort will be saved.

Use these questions to get the best deal while buying a used car.
